Croft Circuit to host Best of British Rallycross Weekend

Croft Circuit (Darlington) will host the PSM Motorsport Ltd promoted 'Best of British Rallycross Weekend' on Sunday July 6th. The event incorporates round four of the 2008 Rallycross Open Championship sponsored by Hi Spec Motorsport, round four of the 2008 Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship and round five of the 2008 Edwardes Bros MDA Rallycross Championship.

Ollie O’Donovan won the second round of the Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship at Pembrey yesterday (May 3), the reigning British champion following on from his win in the opening round of the championship and extending his advantage at the top of the points chart.

Renault for Ridge

Sunderland Student Hal Ridge (21) has made his first move into the European
Rallycross Championship, by building a Renault Clio S1600 for Division 1A. The car, which is scheduled to be ready for the summer is being built by HrRACING Rallyesport (Shropshire) in conjunction with RAT Developments (Lincoln).

Defending Rallycross Open Champion - 'Mad Mark' Watson took a controlled victory in round two of the 2008 Rallycross Open Championship sponsored by Hi Spec Motorsport. The event took place at Blyton Circuit (Lincolnshire) on Sunday April 13th, in front of one of the biggest crowds at the venue. All categories produced plenty of excellent racing, in an event which had attracted a total of 95 entries.

2008 Rallycross Open & MDA Championship title battle set to hot up at Blyton

After winning the opening round of the 2008 Rallycross Open Championship sponsored by Hi Spec Motorsport, Mike Manning arrives at Blyton (near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire) this weekend (Sunday April 13th), looking to increase his one point margin at the top of the points standings ahead of 'Mad Mark' Watson. The Welshman’s Ford Puma looked unstoppable at Croft, but Blyton is a circuit that is one of 'Mad Marks' (Citroen Xsara) and Tony Bells (Toyota Corolla) favourites.

Hi Spec Motorsport announced as Rallycross Open Championship title sponsor

PSM Motorsport Ltd have today announced Hi Spec Motorsport as the title sponsor of the 2008 Rallycross Open Championship ahead of this weekend’s second round at Blyton Circuit in Lincolnshire. The Championship will become known as the “2008 Rallycross Open Championship sponsored by Hi Spec Motorsport”.

New gearbox for Bob Gooding at Blyton

Bob Gooding Motorsport have confirmed that they are fitting a new Elite Racing Gearbox to Bob's Division 1 specification Ford Escort in time for round two of the 2008 Rallycross Open Championship which takes place at Blyton (Lincolnshire) on Sunday April 13th.

British and Irish championships move closer

The British and Irish Rallycross championships will share two events as ties between the two series are strengthened.

The first round of the 2008-2009 Motorsport Ireland Rallycross Championship (IRC) will take place alongside round six of the Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship (BRC) at Pembrey on September 28. The two championships will share billing again in October when the BRC finale takes place at Mondello Park together with the second round of the IRC.
