2007 LINGsCARS.com Rallycross Open Championship & MDA Rallycross Championship

The organisers of the Rallycross Open and MDA Rallycross Championship declared themselves pleased with the Rallycross debut of the Ginetta at last weekends MDA Rallycross test day. Defending Stock Hatch MDA Champion Tony Lynch and fellow competitor Ian Horn drove the 1400cc car at Blyton and both drivers were impressed with the potential of the car. Plans for the use of the Ginetta in 2008 are now being discussed and will be announced in due course.
Revivals team driver Paul Wakeling gave his new 2 litre powered Vauxhall Corsa its first outing of the season, while Simon White was also present with his Super National specification Renault Clio. John Wood continued his development of his Revivals Toyota MR2.
Gary Dixon and Stuart Coldron were both interested spectators as they kept a close eye on their two Super National rivals ahead of the second round of the LINGsCARS.com Rallycross Open Championship at Blyton on Sunday May 20th. Before then, Blyton plays host to the second round of the MDA Rallycross Championship on Sunday April 22nd.
Matt Roach Racing was out enforce with five of his cars in action, while Ian Thorndyke ended his day in spectacular fashion when his engine went bang.
Verity Young continued to make progress with the ex Vicki Butler Henderson Stock Hatch specification Peugeot 205 GTi, as she familiarised herself with the new Silverstone tyres. Simon Horton was also present at the test making his first appearance of the season with his new Metro GTi - the car was just finished on the morning of the test day.
